# About Brett Farmiloe

Founder & CEO of Featured; CEO of Help a Reporter Out (HARO) and Connectively.

Everyone’s an expert in something. I like building outlets like Featured.com, Help a Reporter Out (HARO), and Connectively for people to share their expertise in meaningful ways.

My founder journey started in an RV. After quitting my job as a financial auditor, three friends and I drove 16,000 miles across 38 states interviewing 300 people about how they found meaning in their work. One of my biggest takeaways from the journey? People don’t have a meaningful outlet to share the expertise they’ve accumulated in their lifetime.

I’ve spent the 20 years since building outlets to share expertise.

- **[Featured](https://brettfarmiloe.com/companies/featured)** (Founder & CEO) — Featured.com is the co-pilot for PR. Experts and PR teams use it to find media opportunities and earn coverage across journalist requests, podcasts, bylines, speaking, awards, and GEO (generative engine optimization).
- **[Help a Reporter Out (HARO)](https://brettfarmiloe.com/companies/haro)** (CEO) — Help a Reporter Out (HARO) connects journalists with expert sources through a three-times-a-day email of journalist requests. Featured acquired HARO from Cision in April 2025 and revived it as a free service for journalists and sources, supported by newsletter ads.
- **[Connectively](https://brettfarmiloe.com/companies/connectively)** (CEO) — Connectively is the media-sourcing platform Cision launched as HARO’s successor in 2024. Featured acquired and revived it alongside HARO, relaunching Connectively on June 2, 2026.
- **[Markitors](https://brettfarmiloe.com/companies/markitors)** (Ran for 10 years (acquired 2021)) — Markitors is a digital marketing agency for small businesses that Brett Farmiloe ran for 10 years. It was acquired in 2021 and was named one of Arizona’s Best Companies to Work For.
